Thank you for that wonderful memorial.

Mary Ellen Waithe

I remember, too, that wonderful conference and Eileen's insistence that I come and present on Oliva Sabuco. From then onwards, until she presented at and I chaired a program at Central APA in Minneapolis, our conversations were always about women philosophers. How did I find thoses ancients? What tips might lead to accidental discoveries of treasures? Our shared disdain for scholars who couldn't bother to look at original sources, and who relied upon unreliable translations. She was the only person I ever met who could carry off wearing a classic Chanel jacket while writing on the blackboard. She was a lady and a scholar. An exemplar for so many. Safe travels through the stars dear Eileen. You are missed.
