Like Reinhold Niebuhr, I think it wise to recognize evil and but to practice a politics of redemption.
In the current environment in the US, there is little equivalence, left and right. The greater danger is posed by an emboldened NeoConfederate Right.

The Center and Left do, however, contribute to our plight. The Center fails to adequately acknowledge the pain of economic dislocation. The Left sometimes fails to understand the centrality and plasticity of identity, that the most radical change requires some kind of recognition of the other, of the other's vocabulary.

Is this video also essentially the NRA response to criticism that they should have stood up for Philando Castile, who was a licensed gun owner? Or was there some other response that I missed between that criticism and this?
